Coconut Creek applies Broward County's building safety inspection standard through its own building department. Covered buildings need a structural safety inspection report and an electrical safety inspection report, both on the County's approved forms.
Much of the city's covered inventory is condominium property, with retail centres and commercial buildings along its main corridors. Vilano Engineering delivers both reports and submits them together as a single sealed package.
The notice names the building and the reports that are due. It stops short of explaining what the inspections cover or what the building department expects in the submittal.

Broward's approved structural and electrical report forms are required, and a firm's own format is not accepted in their place. Each page is signed and sealed by the professional responsible for that scope, and the package is filed with the City's building department.
Broward's standard is not limited to the enclosed building. Parking structures, elevated decks and walkways attached to a covered building are inspected as part of it, along with docks and seawalls where a covered building has them. For a retail centre or a condominium property, the parking areas come in with the building.
The same requirement applies in Margate to the west and Deerfield Beach to the north-east, each administered by its own building department. None of them requires infrared thermography; Miami-Dade does.
