Lighthouse Point administers Broward County's building safety inspection standard through its Building and Zoning Department, with submittals filed through the City's building department portal. The programme calls for a structural report and an electrical report, both on the County's approved forms.
The city's covered buildings are its shopping centres, commercial and professional buildings, and low-rise condominium properties. Vilano Engineering delivers both reports and submits them as one sealed package.

Broward's approved structural and electrical report forms are required, and a proprietary format is not accepted in their place. Each page carries the seal of the professional responsible for that scope, and the package is filed through the City's building department portal.
This is where Lighthouse Point differs in practice from an inland city. Broward's standard covers docks and seawalls attached to a covered building, along with elevated decks, walkways and parking structures. On a waterfront commercial or condominium property here, the seawall and the dock are inspected with the building rather than separately from it.
The same county standard governs Pompano Beach immediately to the south and Deerfield Beach to the north, each administered by its own building department. None of the three requires infrared thermography; Miami-Dade does.
